CBR 125R

Honda CBR125R

The Honda CBR125R is a motorcycle in the 125 cc class that combines a small engine with a sporty design, and it's very well suited for beginners in particular. Thanks to its light build and easy handling, it has a really enjoyable character both in the city and while you're getting used to riding.

General Specs

The CBR125R has a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke 125 cc engine and a 6-speed gearbox. Some technical details vary by model year, but overall it's a model that stands out for low fuel consumption, durability and ease of use.

With its sporty fairings and riding position it resembles the bigger CBR models, but in character it's very calm and user-friendly. Its light weight and economy are a real advantage, especially in city riding.

My CBR125R Experience

The motorcycle I made the most memories with was definitely the CBR125R. That's why this model will always have a special place for me. Motovlogging was just starting to catch on back then. I had also started mounting a camera on the bike and filming things. Looking back today, most of my best motorcycle memories are from this period.

I also can't forget the excitement and happiness of the time when I was just starting out with motorcycles. No motorcycle I rode afterwards gave me the same feeling.

The CBR125R was also a big relief after my previous motorcycle, because I finally had a fuel-injected bike. I didn't have to wonder "Is it going to stall?" in rainy weather. And of course there was the redline: vutututututu...

Actually, I had seen and liked this model in this color on the road before I even had any thought of buying a motorcycle. How could I have known back then that one day I'd buy it and live most of my best motorcycle memories with it.

The CBR125R's engine, for the 125 cc class, turned out to be more than solid for me. When I bought the bike it had over 20 thousand kilometers on it. I sold it at around 50-55 thousand kilometers. During that whole time, apart from regular oil changes, it never cost me anything serious mechanically.

On the performance side, of course we're talking about a 125 cc, but back then it was more than enough for me. I even saw 156 km/h on the speedometer on a suitable downhill road. Maybe I broke one of the CBR125R records of that time.

Fuel consumption was one of the best things about the bike. Depending on how I rode, it used about 2-3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. That's a really good figure both for daily use and for someone who wants to ride for a long time.

If I found a clean, well-kept CBR125R today, I'd buy it again without a second thought, even if not to ride it, just to have it sitting there.
